Rebecca Hartwell
Rebecca Hartwell is a post-doctoral researcher in the Structures & Materials research group at TU Delft. She holds a MEng in Material Science (University of Manchester) and Ph.D. (University of Cambridge) on the topic of material efficiency in architectural glass and façade design, specifically focused on reuse. She recently secured funding to advance the assessment methods developed within her Ph.D. for evaluating the reclamation potential of building elements into a proof-of-concept digital tool applicable for real-world projects in collaboration with Digital Technologies (TU Delft), TKI, Permasteelisa and Autodesk Research. Rebecca also leads practical research on the investigation of reversible connections for safe and sustainable load-bearing structures. Alongside her academic research, Rebecca contributes to guidance and policy recommendations through the CWCT and International Energy Agency.
